TOLEDO -- A major roadway is back open after an overnight crash that left a man dead.
It happened around 3 a.m. on the Anthony Wayne Trail near Marengo in south Toledo. Police say 30-year-old Phillip Davis lost control on the wet pavement while rounding a curve on Glendale. He then crashed through a fence and hit two trees.
Neighbors heard the crash and called 911. Police say Davis died at the scene.
The Anthony Wayne Trail had to be shut down while the crash was cleaned up, but it has since re-opened. Police report slick roads may have contributed to the crash.
