SANDUSKY -- Ten-month-old Tashiya Johnson was rescued from a burning building in Sandusky on Thursday. She was the only person injured in the fire, and she's being treated at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
Flames could be seen shooting out of all four floors of the building. Seven of the eight apartments inside were occupied.
Ted Peters was on the scene. "I saw the flames shooting out of the house... There were people upstairs," he said. Peters said he told the occupants that their building was on fire.
Four fire department units were called out to the fire.
Investigators don't know yet exactly how the fire started. The Red Cross is helping out the residents of the damaged building.
