Two seriously injured in crash on U.S. 20

FULTON COUNTY -- A driving instructor and another driver are in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after a serious collision that took place on U.S. 20 east of CR8 in Royalton Township.

The Highway Patrol says student driver, 16-year-old Alexander Murray, went left of the center line and collided head-on with a pick-up truck. He had been driving eastbound on U.S. 20; the truck was traveling westbound.

His instructor, 49-year-old Barbara Hepfinger and a passenger in the truck, 69-year-old Mary Kaser were injured.

Barbara Hepfinger was transported via lifelight to UTMC, where she remains in critical condition. Mary Kaser was lifeflighted to St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, also in critical condition.

Both Murray and Mr. Kaser were taken via ground transport to Fulton County Health Center, where they were each treated and released.
