Toledo--Bowling Green with a road trip to Oxford... always a difficult place to win for the Falcons... it all started with a ceremony for the kid from Findlay... Miami retired the number-seven of former Redhawk Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger before the game... Miami took their cue and rolled from there... Redhawks running back Austin Sykes with a career-high 124 yards... he scored two touchdowns... Falcons' Quarterback Tyler Sheehan was sacked six times as the Falcons lost 47-14... Falcons' now 3-3 overall... 1-1 in the MAC... Miami 3-0 in he conference...Falcons travel to Kent St. next Saturday...

 

        Toledo at Buffalo...Rockets in an early 21-3 hole... never really recovered as they fell to the Bulls 43-33... Buffalo running back James Starks ran all over Toledo for 231-yards and three touchdowns... Toledo still rolled up 513-yards of total offense... Buffalo chalked up 435 yards...but the Bulls still carried the day 43-33... Rockets now 2-5 overall... 0-3 in the conference...Rockets home with Ohio next Saturday...

         in the early morning hours as most of us rolled out of bed... they were running the City League Cross Country Championships at Ottawa Park... Central Catholics' Emma Kertesz individual champ for the Girls... Notre Dame won the team title... Clay was second... St. Ursula took third... on the Boys side...St. John's Joe Miller came across first... Titans also won the team title... St. Francis placed... Whitmer showed...
