Army Reserve soldiers to be honored at ceremony October 14

From a news release from the Public Affairs Office of the 416th Theater Engineer Command:

About 200 formerly deployed Soldiers of the 983rd Engineer Battalion and their families will be honored at a Welcome Home Warrior Citizen Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14.

The ceremony will be held at the U.S. Army Reserve Center at 9825 Garden Rd., Monclova, Ohio. Guest speakers include Ohio State Rep. Marcy Kaptur, 9th Congressional District, and Monclova Mayor Carty Finkbeiner. Area dignitaries have been invited to attend.

While in Iraq, the battalion served in Tikrit and Ramadi constructing roads, rehabilitating Iraqi government buildings with plumbing and electrical upgrades and escorting commercial re-supply convoys throughout Anbar and Salah and Din provinces.

The soldiers will receive an encased U.S. flag, a Welcome Home Warrior Citizen flag and a specially designed commemorative coin and lapel pin set for the soldier and spouse.
