Fire Destroys Monclova Township Home

MONCLOVA TOWNSHIP -- Fire destroyed a Monclova Township home while you slept Monday morning.  It happened around 1:00am on Long View Drive, near Indian Springs Road.

Witnesses tell us they woke up to see flames shooting as high as 30 feet into the air.  Monclova Township fire crews and the Springfield Fire Department both responded.  Fire officials tell us the fire was already very big before they arrived.

They think it started in the back, and quickly spread.  The family of four that lives there was able to get out safely with just the clothes on their backs.

The home was destroyed, and the fire caused heat damage to neighboring homes on either side.

Firefighters don't know what started the flames.  Count on News 11 to follow this story as it develops.
