Bold Bandit Still on the Loose

MONROE COUNTY -- A bold bandit is on the loose this morning after robbing a woman in broad daylight.  It happened in Lambertville, Michigan, at the Deer Creek Commons strip mall on Secor Road.  The victim is recovering after being dragged across the parking lot as the suspect sped away.

The trouble started around six Sunday evening when police say a man stopped a woman, and asked for directions.  He nearly pinned the victim against another car, and grabbed her purse.  The victim tried to hang on, and was dragged almost 20 feet by the suspect's vehicle.

Witnesses helped create a composite sketch of the suspect.  Here's the description being circulated by police:

  • White male with black hair
  • Weighing between 175 and 200 pounds.
  • Witnesses think he's about 35 to 45 years old.
  • Last seen driving a blue, older model vehicle, possible a Chevy Cavalier, with a loud exhaust.

If you have any information, you should contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 734-243-7070.

The victim's injuries are not life-threatening.  She does have bruises and scrapes on her arms, hands, and legs.
