Village of Ottawa Issues Critical Water Alert

OTTAWA -- As if the floods weren't bad enough, people in Ottawa are dealing with a critical water emergency.

Tom Hunter, a representative of the State Emergency Operations Center, has contacted News 11 with the news that the village of Ottawa is in a "critical water situation," and residents are urged to conserve water until further notice.

We're told the water system may have been damaged by saturated ground, which can cause water pipe joints to separate.

Residents are advised to boil any water before they use it until further notice.

Count on News 11 to follow this situation as it develops.
