DOWNTOWN TOLEDO -- The downtown exit ramp from Interstate 75 southbound is back open after a truck crashed into a bridge abutment, spilling fuel. It happened around 2:30am on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses tell News 11 it appears the truck was in the exit-only lane, and tried to get back to the main lanes of I-75 south. The truck crushed some guard rails, and came to rest against an abutment for the bridge carrying Dorr Street over the expressway.
The cab of the truck was heavily damaged. The road was closed through the morning rush hour, and opened around 10:30.
Despite how bad the wreckage looked, the driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash.
