The local Democratic party needs to get its act together -- and fast. I don't know anything about A-teams or B-teams and, like most people, I really don't care. As far as I can tell, those letters stand for angry and belligerent.
Why would they want to preserve that?
For now, I do care when the image of this region is damaged. And make no mistake about it. The recent embarrassment known as "Strippergate" got the attention of the rest of the State.
And I think people around the State are still shaking their heads in disbelief. That's not a good thing. We count on their support for financial assistance and future growth.
The local Democratic party looks a little too shaky to count on. So a fix is needed.
How about hiring the right person as chair? To do so, this hire should not be treated as an interim gig. That won't attract the kind of person they need.
The new chair must be put in place for the long haul. And he or she should be all about the C-team: as in connected, cooperative, concerned.
I'm Bob Chirdon. My hope is that a new order emerges from the current standoff. Let's send the rest of the state the right message, from the right people. It shouldn't be that hard to do.
