Nominations Sought for Woodward Hall of Fame

The Calvin M. Woodward High School Hall of Fame Committee is seeking nominations for individuals to be inducted into its 2008 Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame honors distinguished Woodward graduates, administrators, faculty, staff, and friends of the Woodward community for their accomplishments or contributions to Woodward, their community or their profession.

Established in 1983, the Woodward High School Hall of Fame now has 157 members. The six newest members were inducted on April 21, at the Inverness Club during the 25th Silver Anniversary of the Hall of Fame.

Past inductees or their representatives also were recognized at the event, and presented with a Special Commemorative Medallion designed by Terry Lesniewicz, president of Lesniewicz Associates, a 1966 Woodward graduate and 2006 inductee.

The 2007 inductees are: Lois "Sally" Schoonmaker Lowe, Class of 1943, a social worker and clinical therapist; John R. Gregory, Class of 1959, an internationally recognized businessman and entrepreneur; Peter F. Hess, Class of 1966, a noted lecturer and published writer on issues pertaining to the formation and mitigation of air pollution; Charles A. Kallil, III, Class of 1966, a successful corporate businessman; Keith M. Bell, Sr., Class of 1974, an innovative educational leader, successful former teacher, and coach; and Jill Laytart Trendel, Ph.D., Class of 1985, a published researcher whose work is making an impact on the understanding of human disease.
