Pork Tortilla Soup

5 lbs.          Pork- 1/2" cubed
1/2 lbs        Scallions, chopped
1/2 C.         Vegetable oil
1 1/2 T.      Cumin
1 1/2 T.      Chili Powder
1 T.            Salt
4                Garlic Cloves, minced
1 T.            Pepper

1 1/2 C.     Tomatoes, diced
2 1/2 Qts.  Chicken Broth
1 1/2 C.     Medium Salsa

Monterey Jack Cheese, Shredded
Corn tortillas, cut in strips and deep fried

Heat oil over medium high heat.
Brown pork and onions in oil.
Add seasonings.
Add remaining ingredients.
Simmer, covered, 45-60 minutes.
Top w/ deep fried tortilla strips and cheese.
