TOLEDO -- The mother of the 4-year-old boy whose foot was gnawed off by a pit bull is in the Lucas County Jail -- facing a felony charge of endangering children.
The incident happened at a home in the 1200 block of St. John Avenue in north Toledo. Martina Jennings, 23, took her son to Toledo Hospital Friday morning. She told police the family's bit bull puppy chewed the child's foot.
Jennings will be arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on Monday.
