Bacon Appetizer Swirls
1 pkg. (8oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
8 slices, cooked crisp and crumbled bacon
1/3 cup grated fresh Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped shallots or scallions
2 Tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
1 Tablespoon milk
2 cans (8oz. each) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Mix cream cheese, bacon, Parmesan cheese, shallots, parsley and milk until well blended, set aside. Separate each can of dough into 2 rectangles, firmly press perforations together to seal. Spread each rectangle with 1/4 of the cheese mixture (about 4 Tablespoons), making sure to cover entire rectangle. Starting at long edge roll each rectangle into a sausage. Watch carefully that the perforations hold. Cover roll with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
After chilling, remove to cutting board and cut each roll into 1/2 inch slices. Place each swirl on a greased baking sheet or parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes until lightly puffed and brown. Remove from oven, let sit for 5 minutes and then serve.
Yields 4 dozen.
