Butternut Squash and Apple Casserole

1 small butternut squash (2 pounds or less)
2 apples (cored, peeled and sliced)
1/2 cup brown sugar (more if apples are tart)
1/4 cup cold margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Pare, seed and slice squash into thin slices. Peel, core, and slice apples. Put squash and apples into a casserole dish. Blend remaining ingredients with fork, finger or pastry blender until crumbly. Distribute evenly over squash and apples.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes

Delicious served with ham.
