Maple Syrup Granola

2 cups rolled oats
2 cups coarsely chopped almonds
1 cup low fat butter (can use peanut oil, vegetable oil, or margarine)
1/2 cup maple syrup (use unpasteurized)
1 cup coconut
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup sesame seed

Mix all ingredients together and pour into large roasting pan. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes, turning every 10 minutes to make sure all the mixture becomes lightly toasted. Let cool and store in a tightly closed container.
