Robinson Case On Parishioners' Minds

SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP -- Almost 50 parishioners from several Catholic churches that have been closed celebrated Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday at Advent Lutheran Church.

Many were thinking about Father Gerald Robinson, the priest who led central Toledo's Saint Anthony Church in the late 1980s and early '90s. "It's a very sad thing, obviously. I just hope with all the coverage and bias he does get a fair trial and justice is served," said Eric Hite, a former Saint Anthony parishioner.

"As far as the trial -- if they have the evidence, I guess there should be one," said Mel Adamski. "But I would like to think he is not guilty.".

Father Robinson is charged with the killing of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl. She was found strangled and stabbed inside a Mercy Hospital chapel on Holy Saturday in 1980. Father Robinson was arrested two years ago.

The trial is set to begin Monday morning.
