Community Events

Darlington Nursing and Rehab has been proud to be part of the Toledo Community for more that thirty years. We honestly appreciate the faith our community has placed in us, and welcome opportunities to share our knowledge, experience and campus.

"Lunch and Learn" is a complimentary educational program we offer monthly. Guest speakers address issues that are current and relevant in long term care. Continuing education units are provided for health care professionals, while lunch is catered by our own chef. If you would like to attend a future program, please call Jane Raab at 419-531-4465 for program dates and topics.

At Darlington we pride ourselves on providing top quality care and quality services within a traditional long term care environment. We thrive on the joy associated with approaching the conventional from an unconventional point of view. Up coming, and perhaps unexpected events include an Amateur Comedy Night scheduled in late February. This off-site event is open to area amateur comedians who share our belief that laughter, if not the best medicine, is a wonderful prescription. Comedians are encouraged to limit their PG-13 monologues or skits to three minutes, and will compete for cash prizes. Tickets for this event are available at Darlington, at WTOL 11 and many other local merchants. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Alzheimer's Association here in Toledo.

Another favorite spring event is our annual wine tasting. This black tie evening is hosted in the facility's great room and includes some of the finest wines the area has to offer. We would be remiss not to further indulge your senses in the sweet aromas of several chocolatiers and tempt you with delicious baked goods. The highlight of the evening is a silent auction including such prizes as spa packages, get-aways and of course gift baskets.
