Northwest State Community College holds week long manufacturing celebration

Manufacturing week

Friday is Manufacturing Day, but Northwest State Community College is celebrating, educating and inspiring all week.

On Tuesday, they kicked off with a luncheon and round table discussion.

Throughout the week students, government and school representatives will get an opportunity to see different plants and see what the industry looks like and the skills needed in manufacturing today.

Tamara Norris, Computer Training Coordinator with Northwest State Community College said that manufacturing is an important part of the make up of Northwest Ohio, and this week is about celebrating what manufacturers bring to our local economy.

"We do have people who are still without jobs in the Toledo area. We have manufacturers who are looking for employees, we have some manufacturers who are on the brink of expansion if they could get those employees. So I think it's crucial that we connect those two together," said Norris.
