PERRYSBURG, OH (WTOL) - September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

To raise money and bring attention to the cause, a walk was held on Saturday morning at Fallen Timbers.

It marks the first year for the Walk/Run to end Childhood Cancer put on by St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

If you missed it, there is still time to donate to the walk.

"We have had so much support. It's been absolutely incredible," said Brianna Anderson, Event Lead. "We're so excited to be back in Danny Thomas' hometown. I just hope they learn about St. Jude's mission and understand why this cause is so incredible. No family receives a bill for treatment, housing, or food."

Event organizers say they wanted to bring this walk to the Toledo-area because of the success of the Dream Home giveaway.
