TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Students got to experience firsthand Wednesday on what it feels like to be impaired behind the wheel.

Arrive Alive representatives set up at the University of Toledo with their driving simulator.

UT students were able to learn about the risks and consequences of driving impaired or distracted.

Students got into the car, and put on goggles that simulated a real life experience.

"They're putting their lives at danger so they can participate in what it looks like here. Then they are also putting other people's lives at danger as well. We want to make sure that they understand that every single time they get behind the wheel, that they have an impact with what they are doing," explained Jame Blazevich, the Traffic Safety program coordinator at ESC.

The simulator will also make it;s way to Lourdes University and Springfield High School.
