City Council votes on fate of Ottawa Hills fire station

OTTAWA HILLS, OH (WTOL) - The fate of the Ottawa Hills fire station was decided by Toledo City Council Tuesday.

City council voted on removing the Toledo firefighters from the Village which resulted in Council's approval.

This means Ottawa Hills will soon not have any firefighters operating within the village.

But this is only for a six month period. City leaders say they will see what happens after that.

This trial period is expected to start on October 1.  Then, city and village leaders will evaluate in 6 months if this is permanent
