Mud Hens clinch IL West title; heading to playoffs for first time since 2007

The Toledo Mud Hens have been lights out at the end of the 2018 regular season. The team has won 11 of their last 14 games to pull ahead of the Indianapolis Indians and Columbus Clippers to top the International League's West Division.

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - On Sunday night, with just two games left in the season, the Mud Hens pulled off another victory over the Columbus Clippers.

And with an Indianapolis Indians loss, the Hens have clinched the International League West division.

The Toledo Mud Hens have been lights out at the end of the 2018 regular season.

The team has won 11 of their last 14 games to pull ahead of Indianapolis and Columbus and secure a spot in the post-season.

The late run has been a bit of a surprise. The Mud Hens began the season strong before hitting a months-long slump.

The last time the Mud Hens made the playoffs was 2007.

The Mud Hens will take on Durham Bulls in the 1st round.

Game 1: Wednesday at Fifth Third Field - 6:35 p.m.
