Update: Felon flees from traffic stop in Twinsburg causing trooper crash

State Highway Patrol have arrested one man following a trooper involved crash that downed power lines on Ravenna Road in Twinsburg early Tuesday morning.

Troopers attempted to stop 29-year-old Jason M. Zehe of Mentor for a marked lane violation on Interstate 480 near Miles Road when officers realized he had an active felony warrant.

Zehe failed to stop for troopers and a vehicle pursuit began.

Troopers made multiple efforts to stop Zehe's vehicle.

During a roadblock attempt, Zehe intentionally struck a patrol cruiser. A trooper then used his cruiser to end the pursuit when Zehe lost control of his vehicle and traveled off the north side of Ravenna Road.

Zehe exited his vehicle and fled on foot causing a patrol vehicle to crash into a utility pole.

The suspect was apprehended without further incident and transported by EMS to Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg for evaluation.

After treatment he was transported to the Lake County Jail where he was charged with operating a vehicle impaired and marked lanes.

The officer involved in the accident sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

This incident is currently under investigation and additional charges are pending.

Traffic in Twinsburg was tied up Tuesday morning as crews worked to clean up a crash scene involving an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper that crashed into a utility pole.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Ravenna Road and Glenwood Drive before 5 a.m.

The trooper's condition is not known at this time.

Investigators have not released any details regarding the circumstances prior to the crash.
