TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - It's back to school for Toledo Public school kids, and the young men at the MLK Junior Academy were welcomed by some prestigious men in the community.
The welcoming is an annual event and is a way to get kids excited for the first day of school.
"It's not just about school. It's trying to get working with kids to get excited about everyone getting excited. The first days back education is very important to you for your success in life and so the more that we continue to be excited about that first day, the more kids are not dreading that first day," said Dr. Romulus Durant, TPS superintendent.
Our Andrew Kinsey was one of the men welcoming students back to class and he received an award for his dedication and service to the students at the Academy.
