TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - In honor of Jeep Fest, Senator Sherrod Brown visited Toledo Thursday afternoon to discuss legislation to support autoworkers.

The legislation focuses on keeping auto production and customers in America.

The "American Cars, American Jobs Act" would give drivers a discount for buying cars in America.

It also takes away GOP tax cuts for auto manufacturers that ship jobs overseas.

Senator Brown says making this announcement so close to Jeep Fest shows how important it is to the northwest Ohio community.

"I love coming to the Jeep plant and this hall and talking to Jeep workers. My wife and I each drive a Jeep Cherokee, and I celebrate along with northwest Ohio Jeep fest and all this industry means to our community," Brown said.

Senator Brown was joined by auto workers for his announcement at the UAW.
