TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Local bus garages are hard at work getting ready for this school year.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently looking at buses for annual inspections.
Bus drivers are now figuring out the best routes and pick up locations, along with completing annual training.
While drivers are getting ready, bus drivers say there are things parents can do at home to prepare your child before their first day.
"Make sure you're out there 10 minutes before the bus comes. You want to make sure that you're out, the bus driver can see you. Make sure you go over regular rules with your kids. It's the same type of rules that we have in the classroom that you want to conduct on the school bus. And just be patient," said James Mapus, director of transportation at Perrysburg Schools.
