The Panthers have been to the playoffs nine years in a row. They ran the table a year ago as TRAC champs and expect more of the same.
They have plenty of athletes. Koby Meyers ran for nearly 800 yards and 9 touchdowns a year ago. But Whitmer can boast the best quarterback in the area.
Riley Keller's just a junior but as a sophomore, he threw for 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns..
Their defense plays with intensity. Like every other year, they'll be ready in November for a run through state.
"You're only as good as you practice. It comes with hard work. You take that for granted and your hype only lasts till you lose and it means nothing," said Head Coach Ken Winters.
This will be his third year at Whitmer:
"We'll take it one game at a time, that leads to a TRAC championship. Then make a deep run in the playoffs," said Riley.
"We're just trying to get back to where we were before. Same pace and everything. Focus, everything like that," said Keon Gatlin a Senior offensive lineman.
Whitmer opens at home week 1 against Canton Glen Oak.
