All lanes closed on US 6 in Williams County due to three-vehicle crash

Troopers say all lanes of travel on US 6 near County Road 23  have been closed due to a three-vehicle and will remain closed for at least two hours.

WILLIAMS COUNTY, OH (WTOL) - Two people are dead after a  three-vehicle crash happened in Williams County around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Rick Davis, 64, was driving his car on US 6 and slowly turning on County Road 23 when he was struck from behind by a semi-truck driven by 50-year-old Joseph Gonzalez.

The impact pushed both vehicles left center of US 6, which led to another car driven by Richard Keeterle, 48, to collide with the semi-truck head-on in the eastbound lane.

Keeterle was life-flighted to a local hospital in Toledo where he later died.

His passenger Laura Buchholz, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gonzalez was transported to Bryan Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Davis was treated and released at the scene for minor injuries after refusing further medical attention.

At the time of the crash, troopers said all lanes of travel on US 6 near County Road 23 was closed for at least two hours.

No HAZMAT materials were spilled from the the semi-truck.
