Highland Meadows prepares for big cleanup after Marathon Classic

Officials said it will take about two weeks for everything to be completely cleared out.

SYLVANIA, OH (WTOL) - The Marathon Classic wrapped up Sunday and crews began cleaning it all up on Monday.

Officials said it will take about two weeks for everything to be completely cleared out.

However the course will still operate on a normal schedule.

The clean up and tear down process is quite extensive so members playing on the course will still see parts of the tournament like bleachers being taken down over the next two weeks. But they will will be able to play starting Tuesday morning.

Officials from Highland Meadows are grateful their facilities continue to be used for the tournament.

"It's a great thing for the community, great thing for the club, Sylvania, Toledo, it just brings a lot of recognition to the facility," said Nick Myers, Head Golf Professional.

More than 140 golfers played at the golf course last weekend which brought thousands of spectators to the Toledo area.
