Gr ant dollars will soon be able to help homeless veterans in our area find a job.

. - Gr ant dollars will soon be able to help homeless veterans in our area find a job.

WSOS was recently approved to receive $400,000 from the Department of Labor Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program.

The goal is to get homeless veterans over those hurdles that usually keep them from either getting a job or even a job interview. The gr ant will pay for occupational skills training, on the job training, internships, and case management followup.

It will also help homeless veterans stay in contact with potential employers since they sometimes have no mailing address or phone number.

Those who work with these veterans every year know they have the skills to find work, they just need some help in finding the right employer.

"So, they have a lot of transferable skills, I think it's just getting those skill across on paper to be able to get into that room with that employer and interview and share what skills they've learned that they've been able to do while they've been serving in our military," said Ragan Claypool, Adult and Youth Development Director at WSOS.
