WOOD COUNTY, OH (WTOL) - Forty pounds of marijuana worth $93,400 was seized during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike Tuesday in Wood County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers stopped a 2009 Toyota Avalon with New Jersey registration for a following too close violation.
During interaction with the driver, troopers detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed several laundry bags containing 40 pounds of marijuana worth $93,400 in the vehicle's trunk.
The driver, Nadav Dagan, 58, of Metuchen, N.J., was charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies. Dagan was incarcerated in the Wood County jail.
