The Toledo Museum of Art is what it is today because of the support from the Libbey Family. You may know the name, Libbey Glass. Toledo's namesake "Glass City" comes from the more than 180 years that the Libbey Glass has been leading the way in the glassmaking industry, celebrating 200 years in 2018.
Edward Drummond Libbey and Francis Scott Libbey were lovers of the arts and collectors. Because of the investment by the Libbey family, the Toledo Museum of Art continues to be a topnotch museum in the country.
The Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion house this history of studio glassmaking that started right here in the Glass City.
And what would a visit to Toledo be without a stop at the Toledo Mud Hens! Baseball in Toledo goes back nearly as far as glassmaking. The Triple Team in the International League started in 1896 and continues to be a staple in our community. Not to mention, they're in first place!
