TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Someone just became a multi-millionaire! A lottery ticket worth $8.5 million was sold at Lottery Express on South Byrne Road in South Toledo. It was for Saturday's Classic Lotto drawing.
The news came as a surprise to some regular customers.
"Somebody won $8.5 million? Why didn't you tell me that?!" Carol Carter of Toledo asks the store clerk as she pulled up to buy her regular tickets.
Others heard about the winning ticket and decided to press their luck and buy some tickets. WTOL didn't come across the winner during a visit Wednesday afternoon.
"No, I wouldn't be in this line if it was me," replied Margaret Willis when asked if she was the winner.
An employee at Lotto Express says business has been steady following the announcement. The business itself is also a winner, getting $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.
All the chatter has folks asking themselves what they'd do if they win big, stocking up on tickets for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing:
Willis says, "retire." Carter adds, "Oh, I have no idea. I'd probably donate a lot of them to charity." Rose Connin of Toledo says she'd put it toward "college! and pay off my car."
The winner of the $8.5 million still hasn't come forward. So maybe, it's you! Check your classic lotto ticket from Saturday. The numbers were: 6 - 9 - 10 - 12 - 22 and 42. The Kicker -- 1-2-5-5-4-3. Good luck!
