WOOD COUNTY, OH (WTOL) - A different kind of summer camp is going on all this week in Wood County.
Middle school students are learning all about jobs in manufacturing.
Normal summer activities include soccer camp and swimming lessons, but this week, kids in Wood County have some different summer plans.
"This year we're learning like how to create water pumps out of solar panels and all that stuff," said one camper named Kevin.
Kevin is one of the many kids participating in the Ohio manufacturing camp.
All this week, campers will learn about local production facilities and other areas of exploration.
On Monday, students got to learn about how to control light through the NASA S.T.E.M. program.
Some of the campers already seem to feel a calling to this type of work.
The camp runs all this week and is one of 19 in Ohio.
