Police investigating deadly 2-vehicle crash in Sandusky Co.

One person was pronounced dead while the two other people involved suffered non-life threatening injuries.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OH (WTOL) - Police are investigating a deadly 2-vehicle crash in Sandusky County Thursday night.

The crash happened on Township Road 55 east of Township Road 96 in Washington Township around 8:21 p.m.

Police say Marissa Schroeder of Gibsonburg was driving westbound on Township Road 55 when she went left of center and hit a Mazda SUV driven by Constance Klausz of Freemont.

Police say Schroeder's vehicle went off the road a hit a ditch after the crash, while Klausz' traveled off the road, hit a utility pole and overturned.

Police say Klausz and her passenger, Phillip Klausz Jr., were both taken to St. Vincent Hospital, where Mrs. Klausz was pronounced dead.

Police say Schroeder also sustained non-life threatening injuries.

All involved were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
