TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Toledo Police and Fire Departments made two arrests Sunday that are in connection with the recent north Toledo area fires that have been happening recently.

According to the Toledo Municipal Court, an investigation led to 28-year-old Andrew Clark and Nicole Clark being arrested and charged with Arson. Nicole's age was not provided.

The arrests were made after Toledo fire crews battled a suspicious fire Sunday morning at a vacant house Chestnut and Sherman.

Crews say they think the couple went back to the house and set fire to it a second time after firefighters put out the first fire

Officials believe the couple is responsible as they were seen in the area after the fire occurred.

"They were noticed in the area and they were questioned. Once the questions began to play out, they felt that they had enough information to arrest them and bring them to court this morning," said Toledo Fire chief Luis Santiago.

Chief Santiago says there have been seven vacant house fires in north Toledo in about 30 days.

Andrew Clark is being held on a $125,000 bond for arson and aggravated arson. Nicole Clark is also being held on a $125,000 bond on the same charges.

Their next court date is March 27.
