CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The Cleveland Cavaliers made major moves just hours before the NBA trade deadline expired.

The Lakers are sending Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance, Jr to Cleveland in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and the Cavs' 2018 first-round pick.

The Cavs are also picking up George Hill from Sacramento and Iman Shumpert is headed to the Kings.

Rodney Hood from Utah is coming to Cleveland in exchange, Jae Crowder and Derek Rose are headed to the Jazz.

As Cleveland continues to remake its roster, the team worked out a deal with Miami to send Dwyane Wade back to the Heat, league sources tell ESPN. The Cavs will get a protected second round pick for him.

Cavs' General Manager Koby Altman offered the following comments during a Thursday evening phone conference:

“With these trades, I think it’s obvious that the goal was to get younger. I felt we got more talented, we certainly got more athletic, and I think we got more sustainable into the future, but I think in large part we addressed the culture of the team and the building…..the lack of energy and enthusiasm was really disappointing to me. I’m really excited about the new guys we have and what they’re going to bring to the table. I think we’ll be energetic and we’re just going to be fun again, fun to watch and fun to be around. We were excited about what we had at the beginning of the season…. But we were worried that what was going on the floor, and sort of our culture in the building, we were marching a slow death and we didn’t want to be a part of that.”

Nance, Jr is coming home. The Akron native was a Revere High School graduate.

Nance's former coach at Revere, Dean Rahas, thinks this will be a great fit for him. "It's good that he's back home, he's not only a great player but a great person," he said. Nance is averaging just over 8 points a game and 6 boards, and brings elite athleticism to a team in great need of youth and energy.

Will Thursday's trades help fix the team's broken defense?

After the Cavs' big win over Minnesota on Wednesday night, Thomas said he liked it in Cleveland and was hoping he wouldn't be traded again.
