Stonebridge church hopes to feed 2,400 on Thanksgiving Day in Findlay

FINDLAY, OH (WTOL) - Hundreds of volunteers with a local church are working all week long to prepare to serve their community a free Thanksgiving dinner.

For the last 13 years, the congregation of Stonebridge Church in Findlay has volunteered their time to offer a free Thanksgiving meal to anyone in need in the Findlay community.

This year, they are also offering home delivery and a drive through option as well.

The food comes from church members and the donation is from local businesses and other churches.

"One, to bless our community obviously that's huge. but two, it's a great opportunity for us to partner with other churches, other people other businesses within our community as well. So everybody coming together, that's just a real cool thing," said Stephanie Schack with Stonebridge Church.

The event has grown a little every year. This year, they are cooking 73 turkeys and plan on having enough food to feed 2,400 people.

All the work is done entirely by volunteers, many of which spend their entire Thanksgiving day serving others and many of which, make it an entire family affair.

"And serving gives them an opportunity to share the experience, not just with their immediate family, but with their extended family in the community," said event ministry leader Kelly Galer.

In house meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Drive through meals can be picked up from 11:30 a.m. till 2 p.m.

The folks at Stonebridge Church said they don't have a limit on how many meals they can serve per family in house or with their drive through service. But if you want them to deliver a meal on Thanksgiving Day, you have to have your order in by Tuesday at Noon.

Anyone who wants to order a delivered meal can call 419-425-8568. More information can be found here.
