NORTH COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) -

A North College Hill mother faced a judge in October after police said she tied a brown plastic bag over her 2-year-old daughter's head.

The child has since been placed in the custody of her paternal grandmother, Venus White.

According to other court records, Queridea Young, 24, sent a picture to White showing a plastic bag around the girl's head, saying she "left it on her for 30 minutes."

White said she called police after Young sent her the photo.

White claims Young is a good mother and that the alleged crime was "out of her character."

"She's a good mom. She's not a bad mother," said White.

The offense was reported from the 1600 block of West Galbraith Road. Young was held on a child endangering charge at the Hamilton County jail.

A judge set her bond at $25,000 and ordered she wear an electronic monitoring bracelet upon release.

White said she believes Young had a mental break down and that she hopes the mother gets help.
