DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit museum that hosted Aretha Franklin's public visitations after her death last month isn't finished honoring the singular singer. Billed as a "tribute to the Queen of Soul," "THINK" opens to the public Tuesday at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. It features archival photographs, videos and the red shoes she wore at her first visitation. The museum plans a long-term exhibit late next year, and Franklin's family says her wishes were to have a museum.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Democrats and Republicans are stepping up their spending on state legislative races as they draw nearer to the next round of redistricting. Republicans currently hold two-thirds of the state legislative chambers across the U.S, but Democrats are doubling their spending on targeted races. Republicans also have increased their spending compared to 2016. Both want to be in charge for the redrawing of congressional and state legislative districts following the 2020 Census.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan utility has unveiled a new battery to store renewable energy at Western Michigan University. Consumers Energy Project Manager Nathan Washburn says the battery can store enough solar and wind energy to supply about 1,000 homes with an hour of power. He says the battery will be used to keep energy output stable even when there's cloud coverage.

SPENCER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say two people have been found dead in a western Michigan home. Kent County sheriff's officials say the bodies of the man and woman were discovered Saturday morning in the Spencer Township home. Investigators were calling the deaths suspicious but had no further information on how they died. The township is about 34 miles (55 kilometers) northeast of Grand Rapids.
