COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A condemned killer wants the Ohio Supreme Court to reconsider its decision upholding his death sentence even though a co-defendant who fatally stabbed the victim received a life sentence. Death row inmate Austin Myers was sentenced to die for the 2014 killing in southwestern Ohio of childhood friend Justin Back during a burglary. Myers' lawyers asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to reconsider its ruling that a death sentence was appropriate because Myers had a large role in the killing.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - An Uber driver convicted of sexually assaulting a woman after giving her a ride to her northeast Ohio home has been sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison. The Akron Beacon Journal reports 34-year-old Brandon Franklin, of Tallmadge, was sentenced Tuesday in Akron on a third-degree sexual battery conviction. The woman says she woke up on March 25, 2017, and discovered Franklin having sex with her at her home. Franklin says the 22-year-old woman initiated the encounter and willingly had sex with him.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio's capital city has agreed to pay a $30,000 settlement to a man who was kicked in the head by a police officer. The Columbus Dispatch reports the Columbus City Council on Monday unanimously approved the payment to 27-year-old Demarko Anderson. Anderson's attorney says he hopes the settlement will lead to improved police-community relations in Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich is delivering the spring graduation address at Harvard Kennedy School. The former presidential candidate addresses the school of government's class of 2018 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Wednesday. Kasich's continued focus on national policy issues since losing his 2016 presidential bid has fueled speculation that he's positioning to challenge President Donald Trump again in 2020, either as a Republican or as an independent. Kasich says he's weighing his options.
