SOUTH TOLEDO -- Double transplant patient A.J. Nye had to go back to the University of Nebraska in Omaha today after a minor setback.  Here's his mother's e-mailed update from April 6.

"Hello everyone, A.J. is doing and looking VERY WELL, BUT his liver numbers are elevated. I have to make this quick.  We just found out that we have to go back to Omaha. A.J. has a liver biopsy Thurs. (tomorrow) with Dr. Wendy Grant. So, we are driving there through the day today."

"Then we will wait at least 24hrs for the results. Hopefully, the biopsy will show nothing - but if it does show something we will have to stay while, what ever it is, is treated. Sorry I couldn't give more warning but I didn't find out until a few minutes ago myself. I'll keep you all posted and we'll miss you all very much."

"Let's pray UNMC gets him better quickly and we get back home QUICK! We send our love, God Bless! -----Allison and A.J."

A.J. just came home last weekend after spending 2 1/2 months in Omaha after doctors transplanted his liver and small bowel.  It was the second time in his short life to have that happen.  He was born with a birth defect that caused his intestines to develop outside his body.

Count on News 11 for updates as A.J.'s situation develops.
