Joe Stoll is back in Toledo and co-anchor’s WTOL 11 Daybreak on FOX 36 alongside Amanda Fay.
This is Joe’s second ‘tour of duty’ with the station. He was a morning news reporter here from 2009 – 2012 before taking a position at WSYX-TV in Columbus, Ohio. His first on-air job was as a weekend anchor at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Joe is an award-winning journalist. He’s also a Toledo-native and says the opportunity to deliver the news to people in his hometown was something he couldn’t pass up. Joe grew up attending Toledo Public Schools through the 8th grade and then Central Catholic High School. After taking college courses at Owens Community College, Joe transferred to Bowling Green State University, where he received a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Psychology.
Joe married his wife, Jordan, at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in August 2014, just weeks after Toledo’s water crisis. He ‘adopted’ Chloe, her 8-year-old fawn-colored Pug.
Joe and Jordan made the decision to come back to their roots in 2014 to buy a flag store in Point Place where Joe worked while in college, but says the TV bug was always in him, which prompted him to come back to television.
When he’s not on TV, Joe enjoys a good run or a bike ride along the University Trail. He’s also a board member for the Friendship Park Community Center in Point Place.
