Public water systems test positive for microcystin in raw water, not in treated water

Ohio EPA testing within the last 24 hours found multiple western Lake Erie public water systems tested positive for microcystin in the raw water. All locations tested clear in the finished (treated) water.

(Toledo News Now) - Ohio EPA testing within the last 24 hours found multiple western Lake Erie public water systems tested positive for microcystin in the raw water. All locations tested clear in the finished (treated) water.

Toledo, Ottawa County, Kelley's Island, Camp Patmos on Kelley's Island, South Bass Island, and Lake Erie Utilities on Middle Bass Island tested positive in the raw water but no detection of microcystin was found in the finished water.

Marblehead tested positive in the raw water at a level higher than Toledo, but there was no detection in the finished water.

Carroll Township and Oregon had no detection of microcystin in the raw water.

Over the weekend, Kelley's Island water system had one positive test for microcystin in the finished water, but not since then.
