ROSSFORD, OH (Toledo News Now) - Rossford City Council voted Monday on a resolution to deal with a feral cat problem in the city.
The council approved a resolution allowing Humane Ohio to work in conjunction with the Wood County Humane Society to spay or neuter and release the cats.
Mayor Neil MacKinnon, III, says the feral cats have been a nuisance in the community for at least a year.
“There's a pocket and it seems to be growing,” he said. “There's some folks that have the best of intentions and they feed the cats, but unfortunately, [that] attracts vermin and other critters that aren't really wanted, so this is a humane way for us to start and see if we can get some results.”
