(Toledo News Now) - Guess who is coming back? The door-to-door magazine sellers!
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has received reports across the country that they are knocking on doors and sometimes using dishonest and high-pressure selling tactics.
These salesmen may claim to be raising money for a school or charity, or that they are part of a contest. The BBB says you should look for an identification badge and make sure they're legitimate before supporting your local schools.
You should also be aware that prices may be higher when purchasing magazines this way, and examine the paperwork carefully. The BBB says often the payment given is just the seller's commission and not the subscription cost.
If you order magazines, be sure to keep the paperwork in case you don't receive them. Contact the publisher if you need to.
