SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened late Sunday night on US-23 southbound just north of the I-475 split in Sylvania Township.
We're told 73-year-old Judith Quinn, of Toledo, was driving northbound on the southbound lanes of US-23 when she drove off the side of the road, striking a concrete barricade.
Quinn had to be extricated from her car and was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The crash closed southbound lanes of US-23. They have since reopened.
The OSHP says it is unsure at this time why or where Quinn entered the highway going the wrong way. We're told she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
