South Toledo apartment complex fire possibly caused by lightning

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Fire crews have extinguished a fire at Southwyck Landing Apartments in south Toledo Thursday morning.

The apartment complex is in the 2200 block of Foxbourne Road near Reynolds.

The 911 caller who reported the fire said they saw smoke around 5

one was injured in the fire and the building has been given the all clear.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though lightning is suspected.

"(It) sounded like a transformer exploded," said one resident.  "(The) whole apartment complex shook. Had to be lightning."
