WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Washington Township Fire Department is looking for men and women to join their firefighting family.
The department is in need of more than a dozen people to become paid-per-call firefighters.
Chief Matt Hart says applicants do not need experience to apply as they will provide all the training and equipment.
Those interested, however, must be 18 years or older and live in close proximity to the station.
He says the paid-per-call positions are very important and help guarantee the safety of those in the community.
“Well it's important to the department, but it's even more important to the community we serve. We're the fire department, we answer everybody's call for help... and we need to have enough people available to be able to respond, to be able to do that,” said Hart.
To apply for the position
. The academy starts June 1.
